How Can I Drink More Water?

Drinking water is one of the best things we can possibly do for our bodies in every regard. Making sure you are well-hydrated benefits your muscles, organs, tissues, tendons and more, but drinking enough water to be fully hydrated might feel like a chore.

Thankfully, there are many creative ways to give your hydration a boost and make sure you are drinking enough water on a daily basis. Your AFC Urgent Care Southcenter team is here to help you stay hydrated and healthy even in the summer heat.

Why Should I Drink More Water in the Summer?

While your body depends on water to function, it also loses water with extra activity. The more you move, sweat and exercise, the more water your body will need to function—and thus, the more water you will need to consume to hit your hydration goals.

While the baseline for most people is six to eight glasses of water per day, this is considered the bare minimum, so you will likely need to drink more during the summer. Watch your body for signs you aren’t drinking enough.

Signs It Is Time to Drink More Water

  • A sluggish or tired feeling

While drinking plain water is the best thing you can do for your body, if you are needing to consume extra water to stay hydrated, it can become tedious.
